I'm a bookworm

Ever since school let out for the summer, I have been a constant bookworm! I have been reading and reading every chance I get. I even spent one of my lunches at summer school reading in my classroom and not visiting with the other teachers. It's a little obsessive, maybe. I get on message boards to find out about what other people are reading and what they love. But, I did discover a great website in the process. www.paperbackswap.com. I have loaded all of my books on the website and if people want them, they order from me and it's free for them. I have to pay postage. But, when one of my books is received by another reader, I get a credit to order a book for someone else. It's a great system.

I have read A Thousand Splendid Suns, The Tenth Circle, Belly Laughs, The Lovely Bones, and now I am reading my first book by James Patterson, The 5th Horseman. I'm going to start Nineteen Minutes as soon as I finish with this one.

To be honest, I can't wait to get home tonight and start my downtime so I can read some more. I'm sure Jeff is getting sick of it because it's definitely taken my attention away from him. I'll try to make it up to him.

I'm a bridesmaid!

So, I went to see Kelly try on her wedding dress at Alfred Angelo. It's beautiful and she will be a gorgeous bride! I was actually the idiot to ask the girl helping her get into the dress who the designer was. Of course, she told me it was Alfred Angelo. I felt about two inches tall and extremely stupid. But, then Audrey came to my rescue when she said she was about to ask the same question. Whoops!

r Fwiend got out of her wedding dress, she asked us if we wanted to try on our potential bridesmaid dresses. So, we did and we decided to be a little silly for the photo op.
I'm not including pics of Fwiend's wedding dress just in case her future esposo happens to run across this blog before the big day. That would be traumatic and Fwiend would KILL me!

She is saying that the dresses will be chocolate brown and they are good for girls who could be prego when the wedding gets here. So, since she has 10 bridesmaids and only 2 are not already married, it's probably a safe dress to get. I think it's really cute and trying it on sure was fun!

I followed that visit up with attending Easton's last baseball game of his first season with the White Sox team. They were in the second round of the playoffs and playing against an undefeated team. We ended up losing but my little man caught a pop fly at the pitchers mound!

It was a proud moment and I was so glad I was there to see it. I couldn't have been more proud of him. I love my little baseball guy!

Returning to the States

Jeff and I just took a trip with several of our friends to Playa Del Carmen. We went there last year for our honeymoon but this year we stayed at Sandos Caracol, which was closer into town and was another all inclusive resort (I love those, by the way). It felt like we were there for free since we had paid so far in advance and we never had to whip out any money. It was excellent. Of course, maybe if we were paying, I would have had a few less "beverages". Oh well.

The first full day that we were there, we went with Rob and Laren (they got there three days before us because of a wedding she had to be in that interfered with the previous plan) to Tulum to see the Mayan ruins. I had been there before and Jeff thinks he has too, but Rob and Laren were first timers. We got some great pictures
Rob and I even drank from a real coconut. My first time. Might not have been our best idea but it made for a great pic :)

So, when we got back from Tulum, the rest of the crew arrived and they were ready to party (well, the boys were). Here is a pic of the girls:

Shelby, Laura Ann, Kristin, Laren, Me, and Syd!!

Rob and Laren had to catch their flight the next day and we were left to enjoy the sun, which we DID!!! Jeff and I both came home with a great tan! Funny thing is, we were both ready to come home. Probably didn't have anything to do with the fact that the food made us a little sick and we didn't really like it all that much to begin with! While we had a wonderful time there with our friends, we probably won't be coming back to Sandos Caracol. We still LOVE Playa del Carmen!

We came home late Monday night and I had to get up to teach school early Tuesday morning. NOT my favorite day of this week. I was exhausted!

Kelly's little par-tay was Tuesday night and we went to her house to see her try on a potential wedding dress. She asked us to be her bridesmaid with a sweet written card to each one of us. It was really neat and we all said yes, well I said maybe. I kid, I said yes. So, if you need me March 20, 2009 (yep, it's a Friday), I'll be in the weddin party at Fwiend's weddin', and probably fat!

Oh yep, that's right, we're trying to have a little Roubinek muchacho soon. So, if things work out as planned, I might be about ready to pop at her wedding! And, she wants her bmaid dresses to be short. I bet my legs will look amazing.... and FAT by then!
